ZTE has launched its latest premium 5G smartphone the Axon 40 Ultra in China along with Axon 40 Pro, as they promised. It has a 6.8-inch Full HD+ 71° curved AMOLED screen from BOE with 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 10-bit color depth, 1.07 billion colors, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. There is 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming that reduces brightness fluctuations, effectively reduces flicker, and effectively improves visual fatigue caused by using the phone in a dark light environment. This screen has also been certified by TUV Rheinland for low blue light eye protection.
It runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 1TB UFS 3.1 storage, Dual speakers, an upgraded X-axis linear motor and is based on Android 12 with MyOS 12. It has a triple rear camera setup where a 64MP custom IMX787 primary camera with OIS along with a 64MP custom IMX787 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with 5.7x optical zoom with OIS.
The phone has a third-generation under-screen camera with a full-screen blue diamond arrangement, independent pixel driver, distributed transparent circuit, UDC Pro screen display chip, equivalent 2.24 μm large pixel, and a high pixel density of 400 PPI with AI algorithm 3.0. It is powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging.

ZTE also launched the Axon 40 Pro with a 6.67-inch 144Hz AMOLED screen, 108MP triple rear cameras, Snapdragon 870 processor, and a 5000mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging.
