LG has introduced its latest advancement in smart home technology, the Smart Home AI Agent, just ahead of CES 2024. This cutting-edge agent seamlessly integrates robotic, AI, and multi-modal technologies, allowing it to not only move, learn, and comprehend but also engage in complex conversations.

Market as an 'all-around home manager and companion,' it aligns with LG's "Zero Labor Home" vision. The LG robot, powered by the Qualcomm Robotics RB5 Platform, features a built-in camera, speaker, and various sensors for real-time environmental data collection, including temperature, humidity, and indoor air quality.

With its two-legged wheel design, the AI agent can navigate the home independently. It interacts verbally with users, expressing emotions through movements facilitated by its articulated leg joints.

Moreover, the incorporation of multi-modal AI technology, which combines voice and image recognition with natural language processing, equips the intelligent home AI agent to grasp context and intentions, enabling active engagement in communication with users.

The Smart Home AI Agent encompasses a range of capabilities, such as:

  • Integration and Control - It seamlessly connects with and manages smart home appliances and IoT devices within the household.
  • Pet Monitoring and Security - It functions as a pet monitor and security guard, enabling users to remotely observe and care for their pets, while also issuing alerts for any unusual activities.
  • Autonomous Home Patrol - The AI Agent autonomously patrols the home when unoccupied and sends notifications to the user's smartphone.
  • Energy Conservation - It contributes to energy conservation by interfacing with smart outlets and turning off unused devices throughout the house.
  • Personalized Greetings - The AI Agent greets users at the front door, gauges their emotions through voice and facial analysis, and selects music or content tailored to their mood.
  • Information Analysis - It analyzes transportation details, weather updates, personal schedules, and reminders for users, offering a comprehensive approach to information management.

LG will present its latest Smart Home AI Agent at CES 2024, scheduled to take place from January 9 to 12.
