POCO has initiated teasers for the imminent launch of its POCO X6 series smartphones in India, bearing the tagline "The Ultimate Predator." Additionally, a teaser video featuring the brand ambassador, Hardik Pandya, hints at the impending hunt without divulging further details.
Notably, POCO has officially confirmed that the X6 series will be the inaugural lineup to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC. This chipset, previously employed in the Redmi K70E, is anticipated to be a rebranded version and is likely to debut as the POCO X6 Pro.
The Dimensity 8300 Ultra represents a significant upgrade over the Snapdragon 778G utilized in the POCO X5 Pro, suggesting a potential price increase for the upcoming devices.
As a quick reminder, the Redmi K70E features a 6.67-inch 1.5K OLED display with a remarkable peak brightness of up to 1800 nits, a swift 120Hz refresh rate, and 1920Hz PWM high-frequency dimming. It incorporates a 5000mm² vapor chamber cooling system, offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, and is constructed with a glass back and plastic frame. The camera setup includes a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. Notably, the phone is equipped with a substantial 5500mAh battery and supports 90W fast charging.
Earlier speculations suggest that the POCO X6 5G will be a rebadged version of the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, set to debut in India on January 4th. Consequently, it is anticipated that the POCO X6 and X6 Pro will likely be unveiled on the same date. There are also circulating rumors about the POCO X6 Neo, believed to be a rebranded iteration of the Redmi Note 13R Pro.
The POCO X6 series is slated to be available on Flipkart, mirroring the distribution strategy of other POCO phones. Further details are expected to emerge in the upcoming weeks, providing more insights ahead of the anticipated launch in January 2024.
