Xiaomi introduced the Watch S1 in December 2021, followed by the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro in August 2022. In December 2022, they unveiled the Watch S2. Currently, it remains uncertain whether Xiaomi intends to release a Pro version of the Watch S2. However, a recent leak from the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that the company is actively developing a flagship smartwatch. The leaked specifications for this device strongly indicate that it could be the Xiaomi Watch S3.
According to the tipster, Xiaomi is set to unveil a new smartwatch by the end of this year. This upcoming device will feature an OLED screen and a robust 520mAh battery. For reference, the Watch S2 is equipped with a 500mAh battery, which further strengthens the possibility that the tipster's information pertains to the Watch S3.
The informant also mentioned that the smartwatch will come equipped with 4G connectivity, alongside other noteworthy features including a heart rate sensor, a blood oxygen monitoring function, and the capability for voice calls. The leaker has indicated an intention to provide further details about the device's chipset and additional specifications in the coming days.
Furthermore, in the comments section of the Weibo post, the tipster disclosed that the smartwatch is scheduled for an announcement in November, coinciding with the launch of the company's flagship smartphones. Consequently, it appears that Xiaomi intends to introduce both the Xiaomi Watch S3 and the Xiaomi 14 series in December.
Earlier this year, reports were suggesting that Xiaomi was developing a smartwatch running on Wear OS. However, it's still too early to confirm whether the global version of the Watch S3 will indeed feature Wear OS.
