HMD Global has officially confirmed the launch of its latest smartphone the Nokia G42 5G in India, scheduled for September 11th, following its initial introduction in June. While the phone was originally unveiled with QuickFix repairability in collaboration with iFixit, there is no mention of this feature for the Indian release.
However, HMD Global did emphasize that the device's back cover incorporates 65% recycled materials and is manufactured within India. Additionally, the company has confirmed that the phone will come pre-loaded with Android 13 and will receive two years of operating system upgrades and three years of security updates.
For the Indian market, the phone will be available with 6GB of RAM and an extra 5GB of virtual RAM, coupled with 128GB of storage.
