Xiaomi is set to launch the Mi 4c in China on September 22nd. Xiaomi co-founder and president Bin Lin confirmed with a post on Weibo saying that the Xiaomi Mi 4c will be available with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage or 3GB RAM with 32GB storage.
The Xiaomi Mi 4c is an enhanced version of the Mi 4i featuring a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor also seen on the LG G4. The Mi 4i on the other hand runs on Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor and did suffer from over-heating issues. At present the Mi 4c will be a China only release but we expect a global rollout soon.
The rest of the specs remain the same including a 5-inch 1080p IPS display, 13MP rear, 5MP front-cameras running Android 5.0 Lollipop based MIUI 7. There have also been unconfirmed reports that the Xiaomi Mi 4c will also feature USB Type-C port, hence the C in the name.
Coming to pricing Xiaomi Today reports that the Mi 4c will come in at CNY 1499 (about Rs. 15,500) for the 16GB variant with the 32GB variant pirced a bit higher.
