TECNO has launched its first-ever foldable smartphone the TECNO PHANTOM V Fold 5G in India after it was introduced at the MWC 2023 in February. The Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana and Brand Ambassador of the company has unveiled the phone yesterday.
The phone has a 7.85-inch 2K+ foldable 10-120Hz LTPO AMOLED screen with an 8:7 aspect ratio, a 90% screen-to-body ratio, and the company says that it is virtually crease-free. There is a 6.42-inch 1080p outer display 10-120Hz LTPO AMOLED screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 91% screen-to-body ratio. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
It has an aerospace-grade innovative drop-shaped hinge with exclusive fixed-axis rotate and slide technology, a self-developed reverse snap structure that makes folding virtually seamless and crease-free, as per the company. Tecno says it has high durability of over 200,000 folds.
According to the company, The micro-curved secondary screen and the back makes it easy to hold and comes in black color made of skin-friendly classic leather, and the white is crafted with renewable organic silicone leather. It is based on Android 13 with HiOS 13 Fold with Split Screen, Parallel Windows, drag and drop across screens, and more optimized for a foldable screen.
The company said that Foldable customizations have been made to the top 1,000 apps with the highest download frequency globally, of which 90% have been adapted to support split-screen and multi-window modes. In total, over 2000 apps have been adapted for HiOS13 Fold. It is powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging, which can charge up to 40% in 15 minutes and 100% in 55 minutes.
The phone has a triple rear camera setup where a 50MP primary camera along with a 13MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP portrait camera, and the outer screen has a 32MP front-facing camera and there is also a 16MP camera on the inside for a selfie. You can also use the front screen to shoot selfies with the rear camera. It supports super night portrait, night mode, and super night 4K video features.
