Sony has just announced the budget Xperia E1 with 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) display and HSPA+ support. There's 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of onboard storage, but there's no microSD card slot. It will be a dual-SIM smartphone and come in white, black and purple colors. The design looks similar to the Xperia M without the contouring back and missing LED flash.
One of the differentiating features of the Xperia E1 will be its 100 dB speaker which is visible in the rather large speaker grill at the back of the device.
There's no release date or price for the Xperia E1 at present but we will meet it at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona next month.
