Sony is preparing to introduce its latest upcoming smartphone the Xperia 5 V, after the launch of the Sony Xperia 1 V earlier this May. Now, the phone has surfaced in a video ad shared by a Redditor (@JB2unique), which reveals a dual rear camera system, departing from the usual triple camera setup, with the tag “New Phone, New Me”.
The leaked video offers a sneak peek at the front side of the phone, uncovering distinct bezels at the top and bottom, along with a notch-less 21:9 aspect ratio display. Interestingly, the selfie camera is positioned within the top bezel, as opposed to a punch-hole cutout.
This alteration hints at the potential for a more budget-friendly price in comparison to previous models. Moreover, the camera housing proudly displays the ZEISS T symbol, signifying the incorporation of the company's anti-glare coating technology.
The video also showcases several other features, such as a 3.5mm port, a frame with a metallic appearance, and color choices in black, white, and blue/gray. Notably, the power button continues to serve as a fingerprint sensor, while the dedicated camera shutter button remains intact.
Although the precise launch and availability dates have not been officially confirmed, Sony usually introduces its Xperia 5 models in September or October each year. However, the recent video leak indicates that the Xperia 5 V might arrive on the market earlier than anticipated.
