Following rumors, the initial renders of the upcoming Sony Xperia 1 VI have emerged, courtesy of @Onleaks. These images reveal a familiar design featuring a front camera positioned on the top bezel and a sizable bottom bezel accommodating the speakers.
The renders also unveil a broader and more conventional 19.5:9 aspect ratio, contrasting with the 21:9 aspect ratio found in previous models. Additionally, it's reported to sport a 2K+ or Quad HD+ display (around 3200 x 1440 pixels) rather than the 4K panel seen in its predecessors.
Dimensions are said to measure 161.9 x 74.5 x 8.4mm, making it wider and shorter compared to older models due to design adjustments, with a slight 0.1mm increase in thickness compared to the Xperia 1 V.
According to reports, the Xperia 1 VI will feature a triple camera setup on the rear, supposedly housing three 48MP Exmor T sensors, including a 48MP 1/2.7″ periscope telephoto sensor capable of 3x optical zoom and up to 6x zoom via sensor crop.
Regarding its release, the phone is anticipated to globally debut in May, which is just around the corner. More specifics about the device are expected to surface in the approaching weeks.
