Samsung has begun rolling out invites for its upcoming Unpacked event on February 24th in Barcelona, just before MWC starts. Since subtlety is not Samsung's strong suit you can clearly see the 5 marked on the Unpacked event logo, stating that we will see the Galaxy S5 being launched at the event.
Last year Samsung was rather quite at MWC without launching any flagship products, however if this year they launch the Galaxy S5 at its doors, its going to garner a lot of attention. There's been a lot of speculation about the Galaxy S5 including Iris scanners, fingerprint scanners, 2K display, 20 MP camera, two variants with metal and plastic builds and a lot more.
However, according to industry sources the 2K display is a given, but there will be a 16 MP f/2.2 camera on the Galaxy S5 with a revamped TouchWiz UI which will run on Android 4.4 KitKat. There will be 3 GB RAM on board but there are no clear specifics as to which processor will power the smartphone, it can be the latest Snapdragon 805 or just plain old Snapdragon 800 which performs quite as good.
