Xiaomi has officially disclosed information about the Redmi K70, after the confirmation details regarding the Redmi K70 Pro, just ahead of its scheduled launch in China tomorrow. The Redmi K70 will boast the same cutting-edge second-generation high-resolution 2K Chinese OLED screen, co-developed with TCL Huaxing and featuring the innovative C8 luminescent material known for its power efficiency.
With a peak brightness reaching 4000 nits, support for 3840Hz PWM high-frequency dimming (a rarity among 2K screens), triple TUV Rheinland eye protection certification, an impressive 2160Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate, and a remarkable 12-bit color spectrum of 68.7 billion colors, the Redmi K70 series aims to set new standards.
Wang Teng Thomas, Xiaomi's product director, emphasized Redmi's commitment to advancing domestic flagship screens, stating, "With the efforts of our professional screen R&D team, we have brought you a top-notch 2K screen on the K70 series!"
The revealed image also confirms the presence of a metal frame and glass back. Notably, it incorporates the same 1/1.55″ Light Fusion 800 sensor as the K70 Pro but lacks the 2X telephoto camera found in the Pro model, suggesting the inclusion of a standard macro sensor.
Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, representing an upgrade from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in the K60. Xiaomi claims a noteworthy AnTuTu 10 score of 1,717,026 points, showcasing the phone's ability to leverage the maximum potential of the SoC. Benchmark listings have already confirmed support for up to 16GB of RAM, and live images have unveiled the presence of Android 14 with HyperOS on top.
The official pricing details for the Redmi K70 series are expected to be unveiled tomorrow during the official launch.
