Update - OPPO has confirmed the launch of Reno7 Pro 5G and Reno7 5G in India on February 4, 2022. These will feature a proprietary OPPO Glow design that incorporates aircraft-grade Laser Direct Imaging (LDI) technology, said the company. The newer LDI technology has been repurposed to etch fine textures—as small as 20 microns in size—onto the photoresist-coated AG glass back cover of the Reno7 series.
Each device’s back features a total of 1.2 million micro-etchings that create the illusion of thousands of stars complete with long tails of light shining across the sky. These micron-scale etchings give the phones a matte in-hand feel and brushed finish, which makes the phone's fingerprint stain-resistant. The smartphone feature a 6.55-inch FHD+ 2.5D OLED screen, which is the company's narrowest bezel packaging process in the history of Reno.
The Reno7 Pro features a lightweight, yet durable aluminum middle frame offering a flat-edge design making it easier to hold and operate. It also uses first-of-its-kind 3D “breathing” lights around the camera module. Where a 1mm diameter fiber is bent to frame the camera area and emit soft, pulsating lights whenever the phone receives a call, message, or during charging. It will be available on Flipkart after the launch.
Earlier - Today, OPPO has started teasing its latest smartphones the OPPO Reno7 and Reno7 Pro in the Reno7 series in India soon, after these were launched in China last year in November. The company says that the Reno7 Pro 5G portrait expert, features Sony’s new 32MP IMX709 selfie camera, and also comes with a 50MP IMX766 rear main camera sensor.
The 32MP Sony IMX709 selfie camera is developed by Oppo and Sony that uses an RGBW arrangement that can capture crisper and more evenly-exposed photos and videos. The light sensitivity of the sensor has increased by 60%, and it can reduce noise by 35%. It also has hardware-level DOL-HDR, which is used to bring better backlight shooting performance.
The Reno7 series front camera can automatically switch from 85° to a 90° angle when it detects more than two people in the viewfinder to capture multi-person snapshots. It also features portrait photos, camera algorithms separate the subject in the foreground, detect light sources in the background to produce a soft lens flare and finally, blur the background for a more natural-looking Bokeh flare effect.
The Reno7 Pro 5G has a 50MP IMX766 large rear sensor that captures more light when shooting photos and videos. It also supports 26 adjustable bokeh levels, as per OPPO. It also has a Bokeh Flare Portrait video that accurately identifies the human subject in any complex background that we had already seen in the Reno 6 series. It also supports DOL-HDR technology which increases the dynamic range to shoot well-exposed images and detailed low-light videos.
