OPPO has officially announced the debut of the OPPO Reno12 series, slated for May 23rd in China, succeeding last year's Reno11 lineup. Emphasizing OPPO AI, a feature consistent with its recent releases, the company gears up for this launch. Previous leaks hinted that OPPO would pioneer the use of the MediaTek Dimensity 8250 SoC, also referred to as the Dimensity 8200 Star Speed Edition, in the upcoming OPPO Reno12.
This Octa-Core SoC reportedly adopts the TSMC 4nm process and includes 1 x Arm Cortex-A78 prime core clocked at up to 3.1 GHz, 3x Arm Cortex-A78 performance cores at 3.0GHz, and 4x Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 2.0GHz, paired with Mali-G610 MC6, mirroring the specifications of the Dimensity 8200. The Reno12 Pro, on the other hand, will utilize the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition. Both chips boast MediaTek Star Speed Engine technology, upgraded to optimize gaming performance from end to end.
The MediaTek Star Speed Engine integrates essential features such as robust computing power control, precise system monitoring, and network quality supervision. This enhancement aims to enable game developers to deliver a top-tier gaming experience with enhanced graphics, responsive touch, and network feedback, and prolonged battery life, promising players immersive gameplay with smooth frame rates, as stated by the company.
