OnePlus has launched its First foldable smartphone the OnePlus Open in the global markets including India, as they promised. It features a foldable 7.82-inch 2K OLED screen with a 1-120Hz LTPO panel, capable of reaching up to 2,800 nits of peak brightness. It incorporates Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG), and the cover display has a 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED screen that supports a 10-120Hz (LTPO) refresh rate and employs a ceramic guard. Both screens are equipped with ProXDR and 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.
It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage, depending on the market. It incorporates Dual-Through-Hinge Graphite, combined with multidimensional directional insulation technology, resulting in a cooling system that effectively reduces temperatures both internally and externally, according to the company.
The phone operates on Android 13 with Oxygen OS with 4 years of Android OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates for the device. The optimized Oxygen OS boasts a global taskbar with an app library, a File Pocket that displays recent files, multitasking split-screen capability with an expansive view, the option to save app groups, and a floating window.
It has a 48MP primary rear camera with a Sony LYT-T808 sensor along with a 48MP 114° ultra-wide camera with Sony IMX581 sensor, 64MP 3x telephoto camera with 6x optical zoom, up to 120x digital zoom, OmniVision OV32C, Hasselblad camera features. The Cover screen has a 32MP front camera and 20MP Main screen camera, and both support up to 4K video recording.
OnePlus Open hinge design reduces the number of parts by approximately one-third and utilizes aviation-grade high-strength steel along with an integrated zirconium alloy liquid metal, leading to a lighter, flatter, and more stable hinge. The company claims that the screen is TÜV Rheinland "reliable folding" certified for up to 1,000,000 folds, ensuring a crease-free experience.
When unfolded the device's body thickness measures just 5.8mm, while when folded, it measures 11.7mm. The glass version weighs 245g, while the leather version weighs 239g. It is equipped with an alert slider and supports a semi-folded display within an angle range of 45°–125°. It is powered by a 4805mAh battery with 67W fast charging, capable of reaching 100% charge in just 42 minutes, but it does not support wireless charging.

The OnePlus Open is available in Emerald Dusk and Voyager Black color options and the price is Rs.1,39,999 for 16GB RAM with 512GB storage version. It will be available from October 27th in India on Amazon India and OnePlus.in and the Pre-order has started from today.
