OnePlus has revealed a collaboration with BOE to jointly develop a groundbreaking advancement in mobile phone screens, set to be unveiled at an event in Chongqing, China on October 24. The official invitation teases, "Sunrise·East! In 30 years, we have progressed from trailing to catching up and now surpassing. On October 24th, BOE Display, in collaboration with OPPO and OnePlus, will mark a pivotal moment for Chinese screens," as per the company statement.
Although specific details are currently undisclosed, leaker Digital Chat Station suggests that the company will introduce a 2K screen for an upcoming OnePlus phone, boasting a peak brightness of 3000 nits. Notably, the recently launched OnePlus Open offers a peak brightness of up to 2800 nits. The leaker further indicates that the company aims to implement the 3000 nits peak brightness technology in 1.5K screens, utilizing 2160Hz PWM dimming along with Single pulse DC.
According to earlier speculations, this advanced screen technology is expected to debut in the upcoming OnePlus 12, slated for release in a few months. More comprehensive details are anticipated to be unveiled during the display's introduction next week.
