There have been several leaks floating on the internet that Google has scrapped the Nexus program and instead will start a new Android Silver device program which will enable manufacturers to make premium high-end smartphones running the latest Android version with the cost subsidized by Google. There will surely be several rules and restrictions to the new Silver certification.
LG handset, running a Qualcomm MSM8994, to be among first Silver devices. Successor to the Nexus 6 initiative, expected on Sprint in the US.

For now, @evLeaks has released a new tidbit on the Android Silver program that LG is going to make the first Android Silver device bearing Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8994 SoC. Previously this device was known as the Nexus 6, but we'll see what its called when released.
Google I/O is set to take place next month, we might see the new Android Silver certification being announced as well as the first devices under this new program.
