Google has finally released the Google Chromecast Audio in India for a price of INR 3399. The device was launched last year and was available in many countries before it finally made its way to India. Yes, the hardware is a little old (almost a year) but it’s not outdated and still fulfills the purpose it was designed for.
The Chromecast Audio essentially turns any wired speaker into wireless and with multiple pairings you can have an entire house filled with speakers in different room play the same music. 1. Striking New Look
One of the most striking features of the new Chromecast is its Hockey Puck like shape. The Chromecast Audio is has a nice round shape which can be easily tucked away, without being noticed or if you want it be noticed, there are some colors to choose from. There are 2 ports on the device, one 3.5mm Audio Jack and the other a Micro USB 2.0 for powering the device. The design is sleeker and more functional.
2. Easier to Setup
The connecting process of the Chromecast Audio is quite fast as well. It only requires 3 steps, 1 connect to speaker, 2 connect the Chromecast to power and then just download the Chromecast app on your phone. This will make any speaker into a smart audio device.

Google India has taken an initiative to make the Chromecast Audio useful for Indian users as well. The Chromecast audio supports many local/streaming music apps like Play Music, Pandora, iHeart Radio, Rdio and Spotify but these apps are not usually used in India so Google has extended the support for Saavn and Wynk Music as well.

The unique thing about the Chromecast Audio is that it steams audio over Wi-Fi and not through Bluetooth which results in better sound fidelity and another advantage of streaming through Wi-Fi is thatyou have bigger range.

The list of the supported devices for the Chromecast Audio is quite huge, starting with Android phones or tablets, iPhone, iPad, Mac or any PC or Chromebook. Practically, speaking the you can connect your Chromecast Audio with any device at your home.

This time around Google has taken care of availability as well. Chromecast Audio alongwith the Chromecast 2 will be available both offline as well as online. Google's online partners for the new Chromecast are Flipkart, Snapdeal and PayTM while offline it will be available through Reliance and Chroma.
