LeEco today announced its new trio of smartphones, all without a 3.5mm audio jack. That irked quite a number of people, but the company was quick to point out that they will be including a USB Type-C to 3.5mm audio adapter within the box of the LeEco Le 2, Le 2 Pro and the Le Max 2.
That does make sense, since at present very few companies are making audio accessories with a USB Type-C port. Of all the brands I can recall only JBL and now LeEco come to mind.
Our smartphones have become an extension of who were are, and what we listen to is a huge part of it. Getting the best audio quality from your smartphone may not be the top priority for everyone, especially when it comes at a premium, but with the new LeEco devices, the company promises high quality lossless audio with their new CDLA (Continual Digital Lossless Audio) technology on a budget.
But it remains to be seen, if that actually makes a difference for us common folk.
Thanks Anirudh for the tip!
