Micromax is an Indian Android smartphone manufacturer, which has a stronghold in India and comes second to Samsung in the number of devices sold in its home country. The company revealed its big plans recently, where co-founder Rahul Sharma stated that Micromax aims to become a global hardware brand. In tune with such big ambitions, Micromax also hired veteran actor Hugh Jackman as their brand ambassador, who is presently promoting the new Micromax Canvas Turbo which comes with a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM and 5-inch 1080p display, specs pretty much in line with several current-gen flagship devices.
The company has already partnered up with Yandex in Russia for apps, and poached some execs from rival companies. They aim to launch a couple of products designed specifically for the market in Russia soon. Romania is next on the map for the Indian smartphone manufacturer.
