There were speculations that Xiaomi will announce some offers for its 6th year anniversary and here we are with the Mi Fan Festival 2016. Last year Xiaomi didn’t really do anything big as they didn’t have any major offerings but this year its all about winning back the Mi Fans.
Just a couple of days back Xiaomi launched the Mi5 in India for the price of INR 25,000, according to the price the phone offers a lot. At the launch event they said that the Mi 5 would go on sale starting April 6th, but there was no mention of a flash sale.
There were some clues dropped by Xiaomi that on 6th April there will be something good, last Redmi Note 3 sale was on 30th March 2016 after which the registration window for the next sale on mi.com/in didn’t open. Which in the starting made us think that the phone will remain out of stock till the time Xiaomi doesn’t makes any announcement about the phone but there were some instances which told us that there will be a sale on the mi.com/in but without registration.
Here's everything that Xiaomi is launching on 6th April alongwith pricing and sale timings:
1. Xiaomi Mi 5
First sale of the company’s flagship in India is on this day and the flash sale starts at 11AM, 2PM and 5PM. Xiaomi is also offering Mi Protect for the Xiaomi Mi5 at just INR 499, which includes insurance against accidental damage and this festival pricing on Mi Protect will change after the initial, 6th April, sale. Moreover, from all the promotional material, it seems that only the white variant of the Mi 5 will be available in the first flash sale.
2. Redmi Note 3 3GB RAM Variant
The phone has been very famous for all the right reasons, Redmi Note 3 offers what a flagship phone would offer in 1/3 of the price. Surprisingly the Redmi Note 3 is not only a beast on paper but infact it performs much better in real life. I have been personally being using the phone and I must say it’s a very impressive package. The major complaint about the phone is that the 32GB variant was not available in the last two flash sales and even in the previous ones it was available in very limited quantity. But, Xiaomi is bringing the 3GB RAM variant of the Redmi Note 3 for sale at least on the Mi Fan Festival 2016. The Redmi Note 3 3GB RAM variant will be available on sale on both Mi.com and Amazon at 11AM, 2PM and 5PM on 6th April.
3. 20,000 mAh Mi Power Bank
Surprise! Surprise! This is a product that we expected to see at the Xiaomi Mi 5 Launch event. Xiaomi didn’t even mention anything except the Mi 5 so we thought that the powerbank will take some time to come to India but this is one of the biggest surprise that I have seen from the company this year. The powerbank has been priced very aggressively at just INR 1,699 which is a very good deal at this price. Moreover the new 20,000 mAh power bank is light and even though it cannot fit in your pocket, is an excellent companion in your back-pack. It will also be going on sale on 6th April at 11AM, 2PM and 5PM on Mi.com/in and do remember, this is a flash sale as well with limited stocks.
4. Some New Accessories
Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro, LED Light Enhanced, Mi USB Cable 120cm. These have also been launched in India and will be going on sale on the 6th April. The Pro Mi In-ear headphones have been priced at Rs. 1,399, the MI LED Light Enhanced come in at Rs. 249 while you will be able to get the Mi USB Cable for Rs. 149.

Xiaomi is also teasing a mystery offer but they have not revealed yet. They will be revealing the details on 5th April 2016 which is just 1 day before the sale. There is nothing mentioned about what it will be or what’s it’s about. We can only speculate after seeing the images. All I can guess is that there could be a price cut for the Redmi 2 Prime, which is being denoted by the 2 at the top of the image.
