Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air has sparked widespread speculation, with rumors hinting at a fresh design and innovative features. Expected to replace the “Plus” model in the iPhone 17 lineup, the device may include a distinctive camera bar on the back, prompting discussions about its unique appearance.

Leaked Design Details -

A recent leak from tipster Majin Bu on X (formerly Twitter) purportedly showcases the rear design of the iPhone 17 Air. The leaked image shows two devices beneath a plastic sheet, both bearing the Apple logo. Key design elements include:

  • A raised, pill-shaped camera bar along the top of the device, featuring a circular cutout on the left for a single rear camera.
  • The right side of the bar houses an LED flash and a small microphone hole.

These details align with reports suggesting the iPhone 17 Air will be the only model in the lineup to feature a single-camera setup.

Rumoured Design Features -

Conflicting reports have emerged about the iPhone 17 Air’s thickness. Some sources estimate a thickness of 6.25mm, while others suggest a range between 5mm and 6mm. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts the device could be as thin as 5.5mm at its slimmest point. For comparison, current iPhone 16 models range from 7.8mm to 8.25mm.

The rear camera is rumored to feature a 48MP single lens, a departure from the dual and triple-camera setups of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models. The thinner profile may result from the camera bar design, which could slightly thicken the device’s top section.

While these rumored details align with earlier leaks, the final design of the iPhone 17 Air remains uncertain. With its launch anticipated in about eight months, Apple may still make design adjustments based on further testing. As the release date approaches, additional leaks and rumors are likely to provide more clarity.
