HTC One X9 went official last week featuring a 5.5-inch 1080p display running on the MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor. The first smartphone in the "One X" series comes with a 13MP rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), capability to capture raw images and 4K Video. There's 3GB RAM onboard and 32GB internal storage which is expandable to 2TB with a microSD Card.
The One X9 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box just like the One A9. But unlike the One A9, BoomSound speakers have made a comeback on the One X9 with Dolby Audio support. The Ultrapixel camera has found its rightful place in the front for selfies too.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE dual-SIM support, with dual-band WiFi ac (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), there's Bluetooth 4.1 support and GPS with GLONASS. The HTC One X9 sports a unibody metal construction which is 7.99mm in thickness and even with a 3000 mAh non-removable battery weighs in at 173 grams.
Starting with the One A9, HTC has begun focusing on the camera of its smartphones more-so than before. The same can be seen with the One X9 and the return of the BoomSound speakers is a welcome change.
The HTC One X9 will be available in classic color options from the company including Gunmetal Grey and Silver. Its been priced at CNY 2399 (about $370 or Rs. 25,000) and will go on sale in China soon. At present there is no word on global availability or pricing.
