HMD is preparing to unveil three new phones in its upcoming launch, as reported by 91Mobiles. This development follows the official change of their social handles and the website from Nokia Mobile to HMD. It is still selling Nokia phones, tablets, and accessories, and will continue to offer support, but it is not expected to launch any new phones under the Nokia brand.
Three New Phones by HMD -
HMD is poised to introduce three phones, one of which will be an affordable model priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000. Notably, the company has indicated no plans to launch phones exceeding Rs 40,000 in India this year, according to the report. The most expensive model is rumored to feature a 108MP camera.
Dual Brand Strategy -
According to the report, HMD Global retains the Nokia license until 2026 and intends to release phones under both the Nokia and HMD brands.
These phones will be available through different retail channels, with Nokia focusing primarily on offline markets and HMD phones being introduced online and in major retail outlets.
The dual strategy is expected to influence the pricing of HMD and Nokia phones. HMD brand smartphones aim to offer ‘value for money,’ while Nokia phones available offline may command slightly higher prices.
Expansion of Service Centers -
Furthermore, HMD Global reportedly plans to inaugurate exclusive service centers alongside the phone launch, underscoring a strategic commitment to providing specialized support for its products.
Expected Launch Date?
As MWC 2024 approaches, further details are anticipated at the event in Barcelona at the end of this month, shedding more light on HMD’s plans for the upcoming phones.
