Enhanced Double-Check Functionality -

Google is broadening the reach of the double-check feature, which has gained popularity in English, to encompass over 40 languages. Users can simply click on the “G” icon, enabling Bard to assess its response by cross-referencing web content. This functionality empowers users to investigate corroborating or conflicting information sourced from Search.

Innovative Image Generation -

Bard now introduces image generation globally in English, leveraging the updated Imagen 2 model. Users can input descriptions, and Bard will craft custom, high-fidelity visuals.

This innovative feature is engineered to strike a balance between quality and speed, delivering photorealistic outputs. Google underscores the importance of responsibility in image generation, incorporating digitally identifiable watermarks and safety protocols.

Responsible AI Principles -

In accordance with Google’s AI Principles, Bard’s image generation incorporates responsible design practices. To differentiate between Bard-generated visuals and human artwork, SynthID embeds identifiable watermarks into the generated images.

Google highlighted its implementation of technical safeguards to prevent the creation of violent, offensive, or explicit content, including filters to avoid generating images of identifiable individuals.

Furthermore, Google emphasized its ongoing investments in safety and privacy protections as integral to its commitment to user security.

Jack Krawczyk, Bard's Product Lead, announced:

"With these updates, Bard undergoes a transformation into an even more valuable and globally accessible AI collaborator. It caters to a wide spectrum of needs, from significant creative endeavors to everyday tasks."
