Just a couple of days ago we had shown you an image of the upcoming Google Pixel smartphone and now we have a look at its bigger brother, the Google Pixel XL.
Unfortunately, its still a look at the front panel of the smartphone which doesn't have any branding. You can see the proximity, light sensor below the main earpiece of the device while the front-camera sits to its left.
There is no major difference in terms of design between both smartphones apart from display size. The larger Google Pixel XL is expected to come with a 5.5-inch display running on the Snapdragon 820/821 quad-core processor with 4GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage and a 3450 mAh battery.
Software may be a distinguishing factor when it comes to Pixel devices this year. Instead of getting a complete stock Android experience, Google is expected to bring in some unique features to its line-up which would later be merged with AOSP. The new Pixel launcher is one such development which you can see in the image above. We now have circular icons for both folders and apps, there is no icon for an app drawer, instead you just swipe from the bottom to bring it up. Then there's the Google button you see up top which initiates search on a single tap or brings up Google Now when you pull on it.
Both the new Google Pixel smartphones alongwith the ChromeCast Ultra (4K) and possibly the first DayDream VR headset are going to be unveiled on October 4th. The smaller Google Pixel is expected to be priced at $649, meaning the Pixel XL will dive straight into iPhone 7 Plus territory in terms of pricing.
