ASUS has officially launched its latest gaming smartphone in the ROG Phone 9 series in the Global Market, as they announced. These devices feature a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR display with LTPO technology, offering a dynamic 1-120Hz refresh rate, a gaming-specific 185Hz option, and up to 2500 nits of peak brightness.
They run on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC with up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM, up to 1TB storage, and are based on Android 15 with ROG UI. The phones also support AeroActive Cooler X Pro that includes a subwoofer and two hardware shoulder buttons compatible with AirTriggers. It features 12.5% larger fan blades and an upgraded thermal compound, delivering 29% more efficient cooling.
The series boasts improved cooling, with a 57% larger graphite sheet compared to its predecessor, alongside a new active cooler equipped with enhanced thermal materials and a slightly bigger fan. The AeroCase introduces an optional Chill Case feature with "Audio Redirection," which redirects sound from the bottom-firing speaker to the front for an enhanced stereo experience.
The ROG Phone 9 AniMe Vision auxiliary display comes with 85 programmable mini-LEDs, while the Pro model upgrades this to 648 programmable mini-LEDs. Both support exclusive animations that respond to user interactions, with additional red mini-LEDs to amplify the gaming aesthetic.
In terms of cameras, the series introduces a new 50MP Sony LYTIA 700 sensor as the main camera, equipped with a 6-Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer offering +/-5° correction. It also includes a 13MP ultrawide lens, while the Pro model adds a 32MP 3X telephoto lens with built-in OIS. On the standard model, the telephoto lens is replaced with a 5MP macro camera. Both phones retain a 5800mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging and 15W wireless charging.

Pricing and Availability -
The ASUS ROG Phone 9 comes in Storm White and Phantom Black colours, while the ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro comes only in Phantom Black colour. The devices are now available for order in several countries across the US and Europe. However, details regarding their launch in India are yet to be announced.
