Yu Yutopia

Yu Televentures finally took the wraps off its most awaited smartphone, the YU Yutopia. The company is venturing into flagship waters with the Yutopia and it has the mettle to match. You are getting a Quad-HD panel, that's a 5.2-inch 2560x1440 Pixels OGS display from Sharp in an all metal build which is just 7.2mm in thickness.

There's a 21MP rear camera with Sony IMX230 sensor, PDAF (phase-detection autofocus), Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) capable of recording 4K videos at 30 FPS, 1080p videos at 60 FPS and slow-motion HD videos at 120 FPS. Yutopia also comes with an 8MP front facing camera with wide-angle lens, perfect for your groupfies. The camera hump on the back is quite prominent and just below it you will find the fingerprint sensor. There is a single speaker on the device which too is located at the back.

YU Yutopia Specs and Photos

Now, all this is powered by the Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with 4GB DDR4 RAM, 32GB onboard storage which is expandable with the hybrid micro-SD card slot. The YU Yutopia is a 4G LTE dual-SIM smartphone with a micro-SIM and a hybrid nano-SIM card slot. You can use the second nano-SIM card slot to expand storage.

YU was able to pack a 3000 mAh battery into the thin metal shell of the Yutopia without adding any discernible heft. The device feels good to hold and the metal body definitely feels premium. Alongwith the Yutopia the company also announced its own integrated services platform, "Around YU", using which you will be able to hail cabs, order food, book travel tickets without the need to download individual apps for all these services. At present the service is exclusive to the Yutopia but may be coming to other YU devices soon.

The YU Yutopia will be available on open sale starting December 26th but you can pre-order it starting today at 2PM for Rs. 24,999. Moreover, you will get House of Marley headsets, the Little Bird, free within the box. YU Televentures has said that the quantity is limited therefore you should pre-order yours as soon as possible.
