Yu Yunicorn Launch Postponed

YU Televentures has postponed its May 19th event where the new flagship smartphone, YU Yunicorn, was supposed to launch in India. YU hasn't specified a reason for postponing the launch event.

The company has been rather cryptic on the features and specs of the device as well, and the only thing we know for sure at present is that it will run on stock Android instead of Cyanogen. But in a recent Interview, Rahul Sharma - Founder, YU Televentures cleared some doubts on the partnership between Cyanogen and YU, alongwith some details on their own Custom ROM, Digital Wallet about which you can read here.

Coming back to the YU Yunicorn, it is going to take the baton from the Yutopia and is expected to come with top of the line hardware. There have been some rumors regarding the YU5530 being the Yunicorn but it runs on the Helio P10 octa-core processor which is not quite flagship material even though there's 4GB RAM expected on the device according to leaked benchmarks.

The last launch by the company was the Yureka Note which is only available through offline retailers and comes with a massive 6-inch display.

The YU Yunicorn launch has been postponed till next week but we don't have an exact date yet. The change in launch can be a good strategic move as well to see the pricing on the Moto G4/Moto G4 Plus, Coolpad Max and other smartphones launching in India this week.
