Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun has officially shared images of the company’s latest electric SUV, the Xiaomi YU7 following the release of Xiaomi's first electric cars, the XU7 series, earlier this year. This new model features a design similar to the Xiaomi SU7 and is built on the same platform.

The YU7's specifications were recently listed on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s website. The SUV measures 4,999mm in length, 1,996mm in width, and 1,600mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000mm. It has a curb weight of 2,405kg and a total weight of 2,855kg. Tire options include 245/55R19, 245/50R20, and a combination of 245/45R21 at the front and 275/40R21 at the rear.

The YU7 boasts a dynamic design that blends sportiness with ruggedness. Its gently sloping roofline adds a sleek appearance, while a segmented waistline enhances depth and visual intrigue. Aerodynamic grooves integrated into the front fenders improve airflow, and flush pop-up door handles ensure a streamlined look. The black trim surrounding the wheel arches and side skirts adds a robust, crossover-inspired touch.

Under the hood, the YU7 features a dual-motor setup from Suzhou Huichuan United Power System Co., Ltd. The front motor delivers a maximum power of 220kW, while the rear motor produces up to 288kW—an improvement over the SU7 Max model’s 275kW. This SUV is powered by a ternary lithium-ion battery pack, though its capacity remains undisclosed.

Lei Jun stated that Xiaomi is conducting extensive road tests to resolve potential issues promptly and ensure top-notch product quality. The YU7 is expected to launch officially in June or July 2025, coinciding with the start of production at Xiaomi’s second EV manufacturing facility.
