Update: Xiaomi is sending out invites for the launch of the Redmi Note 4 in India running on a Snapdragon processor, the event is scheduled for the 19th of January.
Earlier this month, rumors started that Xiaomi was going to launch a Snapdragon variant of Redmi Note 4 in India in January 2017. Today, we have a live image of the Redmi Note 4X smartphone running on the Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor with 4GB RAM and this could be the variant coming to India.
According to the leaked image, the phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8.1 on top. There is 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage onboard which should be expandable with a hybrid slot. Just to give you a wrap-up, the original Helio X20 based Redmi Note 4 came with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, metal body and 3.5D curved glass on top. While the Redmi Note 4X is expected to keep the external shell same, the entire innards are going to be changed for India. If the rumors are correct, then the Redmi Note 4X will be priced quite competitively around 1299 yuan or Rs. 12750 ($180). Again, this is just a leak and it contradicts the previous one which said that the Redmi Note 4 in India would launch with Snapdragon 625. Let's see, Xiaomi may have plans to launch two Redmi Note 4 smartphones in India next month.
Update: The Redmi Note 4X was certified by TENNA bearing similar specs and design as the Redmi Note 4, meaning it should be launching soon in China followed by India.
