Just look at the headline once again. Nope we didn't get it wrong. Xiaomi has just announced that they have sold 800,000 units of the Redmi Note 2 in just 12 hours, a new record in China. Redmi Note 2 went up for flash sale yesterday and was gobbled up immediately.

And you can see why, the new Redmi Note 2 comes with MediaTek's flagship Helio X10 octa-core SoC, 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage and a 3060 mAh battery alongwith a 13MP rear and 5MP front shooter running Android Lollipop based MIUI 7. Moreover, you also get an IR blaster onboard to control your home appliances.
The second batch of the Redmi Note 2 is going on sale on August 24th in China. Xiaomi is holding a global MIUI7 launch in India on August 19th, we might get a release schedule on the Redmi Note 2 for India then.
