Xiaomi has just started sending out press invites for a launch event in New Delhi. Given the recent word puzzle on its Facebook fanpage, you can expect the Redmi 2 to be unveiled at the event alongwith the Mi Pad.
The invitation reads "Taking it to the Next Level" with a silhouette of a Mi device which resembles the Redmi 2 from the front. The Redmi 2 is the successor of the popular Redmi 1S and comes with the same 4.7-inch HD IPS display but an upgraded Snapdragon 410 chipset powering the internals with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage. The front camera also gets a bump to 2 MP while the rear camera remains the same at 8 MP with 1080p video capture. There's a larger 2200 mAh battery in there as well. Considering that the Moto E (2015) was launched today, its a definite move to take over the market share by Xiaomi. The Redmi 2 packs far better specs than the new 2nd Generation Moto E but usability is where it may falter. But don't worry we will be there to capture every moment from the event and later give you our first impressions with the device.
