Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship foldable smartphone the MIX Fold 3 at an event in China, as they promised. It features an 8.03-inch 2K+ Samsung Eco² Plus OLED 120Hz LTPO foldable display. On the external side, there's a 6.56-inch FHD+ Samsung E6 AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both screens offer a peak brightness of up to 2600 nits, and support Dolby Vision and HDR10+—additionally, the outer screen benefits from Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version SoC clocked up to 3.36GHz with up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB storage, 10,943mm² VC vapor chamber cooling area, and is based on Android 13 with MIUI Fold 14. It is powered by a 4800mAh battery that supports 67W wired charging, which can charge up to 100% in 40 minutes, and 50W wireless charging support.
It has a quad rear camera setup where a 50MP primary camera with Sony IMX800, sensor, OISc along with 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, 10MP 3.2X portrait telephoto, OIS, and a 10MP 5X periscope telephoto camera with OIS. Equipped with a Leica Summicron lens, the device incorporates the latest iteration of Leica Color Science, complemented by 20MP front and rear cameras dedicated to selfies.
The Fold 3 incorporates an exclusive hinge mechanism employing a 3-element connecting rod design, comprised of 14 micro-hinges and 198 rotating shaft elements. This innovative system utilizes 1800MPa ultra-high-strength steel and ultra-durable carbon ceramic steel. This construction allows for a Hover mode spanning 45° to 135°, while the company asserts its resilience through rigorous testing of 500,000 folding cycles and certification by TÜV Rheinland. When unfolded, the device boasts a mere 5.26mm thickness.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 is available in Black and Gold color options, along with a specialized version featuring aerospace-grade Xiaomi composite fiber. This variant, presented in black, seamlessly merges high-strength aramid and ceramic fibers for enhanced durability. It will be available from August 16th in China and the pre-orders started now.
