Xiaomi is now the 2nd largest wearable manufacturer in the world, just after Fitbit which is having a great IPO. Wearables are going to be huge, but while everyone is busy with packing a million sensors into a single unit or how to make a dud look beautiful, Xiaomi took over with its $12 Mi Band fitness and sleep tracker.
The Mi Band was launched in July last year, so the time is ripe for a new one. If the above render of the MI Band 2 turns out to be right, you are going to get a touchscreen this time around on the Mi Band, a great addition but it will increase the cost. Rumors of NFC support are also floating about.
The design is pretty similar to the original Mi Band, but still is pretty much still a rumor. We haven't heard anything from Xiaomi till now.
