Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship 5G smartphone the Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro at an event in China, as they promised. The Xiaomi 12S has a 6.28-inch FHD+ flexible OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, the same as the predecessor, and the Xiaomi 12S Pro comes with a 6.73-inch 2K Samsung E5 OLED 1-120Hz LTPO display with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support, same as the 12 Pro.
The main difference is these series run on the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The company also launched Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition in the country, which runs on the newest Dimensity 9000+ processor. The other specifications are the same as the Snapdragon models with new feature imaging systems jointly developed by Xiaomi and Leica, containing Leica Summicron lenses, and supporting Leica imaging profiles.
According to the company, Xiaomi 12S Series “co-engineered with Leica” brings authentic “Leica Image Look” to a smartphone. Xiaomi has replaced the IMX766 in the Xiaomi 12 with the Sony IMX707 in the Xiaomi 12S, which is the same sensor present in the 12 Pro and the 12S Pro.
The Xiaomi 12S is powered by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging and the Xiaomi 12S Pro has a 4,600mAh battery with 120W single-cell fast charging. These feature 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging, the same as the predecessor. The Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition has a bigger 5160mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging, but it doesn’t have wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 12S comes in Black, Purple, Green, and White colors, and Xiaomi 12S Pro also comes in Black, Purple, Green, and White colors. These will be available from July 6th in China, and the pre-order has started now.
Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition comes in Black and Blue colors, and it will be available from July 12th in China, and the pre-order has started now.
