Vivo has officially announced the release of its upcoming 5G smartphone the Vivo Y200e 5G in India, set to debut on February 22nd. This unveiling follows the introduction of the Vivo Y200 last October.
According to the company, the Y200e will mark the first instance in India of a phone featuring a resilient eco-fiber leather finish on its rear panel. Accompanying this announcement are images showcasing the phone in an orange hue adorned with a leather finish. Additionally, a teaser image reveals a blue variant of the phone, which boasts a standard finish on the back.
The promotional image highlights a triple-camera setup on the rear of the phone, a departure from the dual-camera configuration seen on the Y200. Furthermore, the flash placement has been shifted to the right side of the camera module.
According to reports, the phone is anticipated to offer nearly identical specifications as the recently launched Y100 5G in Indonesia. Hence, we can anticipate a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen, although it is rumored to include a 16MP front camera.
The triple-camera setup is expected to comprise a 50MP primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a flicker sensor. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC should power the device, an upgrade from the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 found in the Y200. Variants with 8GB RAM paired with 128GB or 256GB storage options are likely, along with a 5000mAh battery supporting 44W fast charging.
The vivo Y200e 5G will be retailed on Flipkart, as well as the Vivo India online store. Pricing details are expected to be revealed upon its launch next week.
