"I am excited about what's next", with these words Vic Gundotra, Google's Senior VP and head of Google+ announced that he is leaving the company after working there for 8 years. Although he didn't mention any specifics as to "what's next" for him but he announced departure in a Google+ post which was corroborated by a post from Larry Page as well, who thanked him for his work over his tenure at Google.
Although what repercussions this would have on Google+ is not known or the strategy Google's social effort would now follow that its architect is now leaving the company. David Besbris has already been chosen to succeed Gundotra as the head of Google+, he is currently VP of Engineering.
