Samsung has made a new GearVR Virtual Reality headset for the Galaxy Note 7 which comes with USB Type-C port which is interchangeable to keep support for the current and previous-gen Galaxy Line-up.
Update (11th August, 2016): GearVR announced in India too, will go on sale from the first week of September 2016 at a price of Rs. 7,290. Samsung also announced the Galaxy Note 7 for Rs. 59,990 and if you pre-order, you can get GearVR at a price of 1,990 only.
The touchpad has been improved with better sensitivity. The new GearVR is slightly heavier than the last-gen model at about 312 grams without the front cover. As I said before the new VR headset for Note 7 is backwards compatible with the current-gen Galaxy flagships. Its actually quite nifty, you can use a microUSB connector or a USB Type-C connector with the GearVR to make it work with any of the old or current Samsung flagship smartphones. This makes it compatible with the Galaxy Note 7, S7, S7 Edge, Note 5, S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge Plus.
The Samsung GearVR will be going on sale on August 19th as well priced at $99 with pre-orders starting August 3rd.
