TECNO is gearing up for the launch of an upcoming foldable smartphone known as the Phantom V Flip, which boasts a vertical folding mechanism. A sneak peek at its design has been obtained through the appearance of its protective case on a Chinese e-commerce platform.
By examining the images of the case, we can observe a secondary circular screen on the rear, which serves to display quick notifications, time, and date. This screen is encircled by dual cameras and a flash, and the device's volume and power buttons are conveniently located on the right side.
Information gleaned from the Google Play Console suggests that the Phantom V Flip is likely to come equipped with a 6.75″ to 6.9” display featuring a high refresh rate of 144Hz, an FHD+ 1080p resolution, and a pixel density of 480 ppi. Powering this device is expected to be the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 5G chip, which shares similarities with the Dimensity 1300 chip.
In the software department, the phone is set to operate on the HIOS system, built upon the foundation of Android 13. Key features include a 64MP rear camera, a 32MP front-facing camera, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, a 4000mAh battery, and rapid 66W charging capabilities. The Phantom V Flip will be offered in three color options: black, white, and purple.
Nonetheless, comprehensive details regarding other specifications and the official release date remain scarce at this point. It's worth noting that TECNO also unveiled the concept phone PHANTOM Ultimate, featuring a rollable screen, during IFA 2023.
