TECNO has launched its first flip smartphone the TECNO Phantom V Flip at an event in Singapore, as they promised. It features a 6.9-inch FHD+ foldable LTPO AMOLED screen that supports a refresh rate ranging from 10Hz to 120Hz. Additionally, it includes a circular 1.32-inch secondary outer AMOLED display, which incorporates an Always-On feature and offers a range of customization options. These options include checking notifications, receiving weather updates, and more.
The company emphasizes that its innovative combination of high-strength ultra-thin glass and a proprietary drop-shaped hinge results in a seamless, crease-free user experience. Tecno claims that this design is highly durable, with the capability to withstand over 200,000 folds.
The phone's physical design boasts a 3D curved body with a Flexible Hoverlock mechanism that can be adjusted to flexible angles ranging from 30° to 150°. Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 5G chip, which shares similarities with the Dimensity 1300 chip. The device packs 8GB of RAM and an additional 8GB of virtual RAM, complemented by a spacious 256GB of storage. To keep temperatures in check during intense usage, the phone is equipped with Ultra-Thin VC Liquid Cooling.
The smartphone operates on Android 13, customized with HiOS 13.5. The company has committed to providing two Android OS upgrades and three years of security patches for this device. Additionally, the phone features Ella GPT 3.0, an advanced AI chatbot tool. This tool allows users to engage in human-like conversations, enabling activities such as sharing thoughts or requesting travel plans, according to the company's description.
In terms of its camera capabilities, the phone is equipped with a 64MP primary rear camera alongside a 13MP ultra-wide camera. Furthermore, it boasts a 32MP front camera located on the inner screen.
Powering the device is a 4000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. This rapid charging technology can provide a 33% charge in just 10 minutes and a full 100% charge within 45 minutes. Notably, the phone includes a charger in the box for user convenience.
