Sony was not done at MWC 2016 with just the launch of the new Xperia X series of smartphones, the company announced its own set of companion devices, the Xperia Eye, Xperia Ear, Xperia Projector and Xperia Agent.

Xperia Eye

The Xperia Eye is a life-log camera, you can pin it to your clothes of also hang it from your neck. It comes with a 360-degree spherical lens for better field of view akin to our normal vision.

It is still at a concept stage and the camera specs are yet to be decided. But Sony said that the camera will be smart enough to recognize voice commands, capture photos automatically and support face detection.

Xperia Ear

We have already heard about the Xperia Ear, its a smart Bluetooth headset using which you can access various information from your smartphone with voice commands. Its more of a personal assistant built into the device which prompts you when you have any calls, messages, traffic updates or events.

You can initiate calls, dictate messages and also ask for directions using the Xperia Ear. It needs to connect with your smartphone via Bluetooth with NFC for pairing, and according to Sony will last a full work-day. It is also IPX2 rated for water resistance, which would be quite necessary to protect it from sweat.

Xperia Projector

You can use the Xperia Projector to get information on any flat surface, be it a wall or a desk. Now, its not the most powerful projector, atleast that's what is apparent from the video demo but it will come with touch input recognition for quick interaction.

This is again still at a concept stage and information on it is quite scarce.

Xperia Agent

From what we can gather, the Xperia Agent is a hub for your smart home appliances and devices. In is vase-shaped exterior, it houses a rotating camera, touchscreen display and microphones for voice recognition. There is a speaker in there as well for responses.

The demo video shows it automatically turning on lights, but that's just the start and we may have something akin to Samsung SmartThings here but with a lot more functionality built into the main unit.
