Today, Qualcomm launched its latest high-end chip in the 8 series the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. Additionally, it confirmed that HONOR, iQOO, realme, Redmi, and Xiaomi will be the initial OEMs to integrate the chip into their smartphones.
During its event in China, the company stated that the 8s Gen 3 will deliver 20% faster CPU performance and 15% greater energy efficiency compared to the previous generation flagship chip of its competitors, likely referring to the Dimensity 9200.
Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro and new Redmi phone -
Xiaomi has announced its collaboration with Qualcomm for the development of the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, set to be among the pioneering devices powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. This marks a significant advancement compared to the Dimensity 8200-Ultra chipset featured in the Civi 3.
The second upcoming device from Xiaomi will be a new addition to the Redmi series, diverging from earlier rumors of the Redmi Note 13 Turbo. Redmi has stated that it will be a mid-range offering, promising to redefine performance expectations within this segment.
iQOO Z9 series -
iQOO has confirmed that its upcoming Z9 series phone will run on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and is scheduled for release in April. Previous speculations suggested it would be named Z9 Turbo.
Meanwhile, realme has already announced that the GT Neo6 SE will be powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC. It is anticipated that the realme GT Neo6 will feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, with official confirmation expected soon.
Motorola Edge 50 Ultra -
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, also referred to as the Edge 50 Pro, has been confirmed to debut equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.
We have yet to receive information regarding the HONOR smartphone that will incorporate this chipset.
