Qualcomm is planning to announce its new mid-range processor in the Snapdragon 7 Series SoC, which is surfaced online by leaker Digital Chat Station in China. Since the company has launched its top-end Snapdragon 778G in the Snapdragon 7 series that was introduced back in May last year, after that the Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G was launched with a minor upgrade in October.
It reveals 4 x ARM Cortex-A710 GPUs clocked at 2.36GHz and 4 x Cortex-A510 CPUs clocked at 1.8GHz with Adreno 662 GPU. The Snapdragon 888 uses an Adreno 660 GPU, so we can expect major improvements in terms of graphics performance. This processor will be based on 4nm Samsung process tech, compared to TSMC 6nm process technology in 778G. Since this will have A710 and A510 CPUs, we can also expect the CPU performance of the new generation of Snapdragon 7 series to increase significantly compared to the previous generation.
According to the earlier reports, this processor is expected to be announced at the Qualcomm 5G summit in May along with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC.
