Samsung has made the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit available in India from its official Samsung eStore, they were launched last month. The Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo run on Tizen OS, Samsung's own home-cooked operating system and have a 1.63-inch (320x320 pixels) display, IP67 certification for dust and water resistance. The Gear 2 has a 2 MP camera, this time on the watch face instead of the strap and that's the only difference between the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo.
Both have irLED as well to control Samsung TV's through WatchON feature. Then there's S Voice, Calculator, ChatON, Voice Memo, Quick Settings and several other software features. The watches pair using Bluetooth LE with your Galaxy smartphone.
The Gear Fit on the other hand runs on RTOS, again customized by Samsung. Its geared at fitness enthusiast and has a 1.84-inch (432x128 pixels)Curved AMOLED display. Its not a smartwatch per-say but a fitness tracker with a heart rate monitor, pedometer and several other sensors.
The Gear 2 has been priced at Rs. 21,550 and is available in Golden Brown as well as Titan Silver colors. While the Gear 2 Neo comes in at 15,450 in gray and black colors. The Gear Fit retails for Rs. 15,450 available only in black color. Samsung Galaxy S5 pre-orders have already begun and shipment will start April 11.
