Samsung has launched its latest flagship 5G next-generation foldable smartphones the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 at its Galaxy Unpacked Event 2023 in South Korea, as they announce. The Galaxy Z Fold5 has a 7.6-inch Infinity Flex Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen on the inside with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 30% brighter at up to 1750 nits.
The outer display has a 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and it is also wider. It runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 1TB UFS 3.1 storage, and is based on Android 13 with One UI 5.1.1. It has the same 50MP primary rear sensor along with a 10MP telephoto camera with supports 3X optical zoom and 30X space zoom, and a 12MP Ultra-wide camera. The inner screen has the same 4MP Under Display Camera (UDC).
The company states that the Multi Window and App Continuity have been enhanced, featuring Taskbar drag and drop, along with third-party app optimization. They have also made improvements to the S Pen Fold Edition, which was first introduced in the Z Fold3 in 2021. The latest version of the S Pen is now slimmer and offers an even better writing experience, making real-time annotating and ideation effortless.
The primary screen now boasts a shock dispersion layer and a redesigned back, resulting in a sturdier display. Furthermore, the Flex Hinge has been improved with an integrated hinge module featuring a dual rail structure, which effectively disperses external impacts and eliminates any noticeable gap when the phone is open, resulting in a sleeker profile of just 6.1mm.
The Phone still has an Armor Aluminum frame and hinge cover, the Cover Screen and rear glass have Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protections and come with IPX8 water resistance. It has the same 4400mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging and 15W wireless (WPC and PMA) charging and also has 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 -
Samsung has also launched its next-generation flip phone the Galaxy Z Flip5 at its unpacked event. It retains the 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex primary display with a 22:9 aspect ratio, and a 1 to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The cover screen has been expanded to 3.4 inches, making it 3.78 times larger than the Flip4 model. Additionally, the Super AMOLED display now features a brighter 60Hz refresh rate, offering a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits.
The device provides users with a wide range of customization options, such as informative and graphical clocks that can perfectly complement the face design of their Galaxy Watch6 series. Additionally, the Flex Window feature allows for convenient and seamless access to essential information with ease.
The device comes equipped with various widgets, including weather updates, music playback control, Media Controller, and a Google Finance widget. With the Multi Widget View feature, users can easily switch between these widgets by simply pinching the screen. Additionally, there are Quick Settings for convenient access, the ability to check call history, reply to texts using the Quick Reply feature with a full QWERTY keyboard, view chat history, and access to Samsung Wallet.
It also runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with 8GB RAM, up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage, and is based on Android 13 with One UI 5.1.1. It has a dual rear camera setup where a 12MP primary camera along with 12MP ultra-wide cameras and a 10MP front camera, this offers improved Nightography capabilities, and the AI-powered image signal processing (ISP) algorithm reduces noise in low-light images while enhancing details and color tone, says the company.
