Samsung today launched its flagship Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in India. Both the Galaxy S6 variants will be available from April 10th, pre-orders begin today.
Samsung has priced the Galaxy S6 at Rs. 49,900 while you can get the Galaxy S6 Edge for Rs. 58,900. Both of these smartphones are powered by Samsung's Exynos 7420 SoC which includes an octa-core processor, 3 GB DDR4 RAM running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. The Galaxy S6 has a flat 5.1-inch quad-HD (2560x1536 pixels, 576PPI) display while the 5.1-inch quad-HD display on the Edge curves on both sides. There's a 16 MP rear camera which employs Sony's IMX240 sensor with OIS and a 5 MP front camera takes care of selfies.
This time around Samsung has made a complete change in design and materials for its flagship. The use of glass and metal for the Galaxy S6 make them feel more premium. But it comes with a downside, the 2550 mAh battery on the Galaxy S6 and 2600 mAh battery on the Galaxy S6 Edge is not removable, moreover there's no microSD card slot too. You would however be able to get them in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants.
The Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 would be available on Flipkart starting April 10th priced at Rs. 58,900 and Rs. 49,900. We will be bringing our hands-on images and videos soon.
