Samsung launches the Octa-core Exynos 5422 powered Galaxy S5 for India

Its official folks, India is getting the octa-core Exynos 5422 powered Galaxy S5 (SM-G900H) with upto 42 MBPS HSPA+ 3G connectivity thanks to the XMM6360 chipset. The Exynos 5422 is based on ARM big.LITTLE architecture but this time with Heterogeneous Multi-processing making better use of the two quad-core CPU's. The new chipset runs on four 1.7 GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 cores keeping the balance between power consumption and performance. It comes with the new MALI T628 MP6 GPU. The LTE variant available in the US is powered by the quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset.

The final pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S5 has yet to be unveiled but it will cost between Rs. 51000 and Rs. 53000 making it Samsung's costliest offering in India at the moment. The Galaxy S5 will go on sale April 11th and pre-orders start on March 29th.
