Samsung is preparing to reveal the Galaxy S24 on January 17, 2024, in San Francisco, USA, and has commenced preparations for the launch, according to a recent SBS Biz report. Additionally, the report confirms that the Galaxy S23 FE will be launched in South Korea on December 1, 2023, priced at KRW 800,000 won (approximately USD 600).
Despite the widespread popularity of high-end phones in South Korea, Samsung's decision to introduce the Galaxy S23 FE as a cost-effective alternative reflects the economic difficulties and sluggish market conditions. Notably, it has been three years since the introduction of a Fan Edition Galaxy S phone in the South Korean market.
Samsung Galaxy S24 with Generative AI capabilities -
The upcoming Galaxy S24 is expected to be labeled an 'AI Phone' with Generative AI capabilities, similar to ChatGPT and Dall-E, according to the report. The series will consist of three models: Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Samsung has already disclosed details about its Exynos 2400 processor, boasting significant performance enhancements, including a faster GPU and NPU.
The Galaxy S24 is anticipated to support on-device AI processing, facilitating features like text-to-image conversion. Additionally, the report highlights the inclusion of a titanium frame for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, akin to the iPhone 15 Pro series.
Given the current challenging climate, the Galaxy S24 series holds considerable significance for Samsung. The report also points to Samsung's financial results for Q3 2023, which indicate a decline in consolidated revenue year-on-year, although there was a rise in quarterly revenue. The company managed to achieve an operating profit, primarily fueled by robust sales of flagship mobile models and increased demand for displays, with some improvements in the Device Solutions Division.
