Lo and Behold! Samsung is rolling out a new update to the Galaxy Gear which will change the entire OS of the phone. You heard it right, Samsung is switching from Android to Tizen 2.2 on the Galaxy Gear, which would bring it on par with the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo.
Apart from the OS swap, there are a number of new features added as well including a Sleep Mode which keeps a note of your sleep patterns, Exercise mode to keep a track of your workouts, voice commands for the camera as well as a standalone music player.
The update also brings better battery-life and performance improvements as well as the ability to change the wallpaper and double tap shortcut. The substantial update to the Galaxy Gear is now available through Samsung Kies and you need to connect the wearable to your PC to download it.
